Christmasy Macau

I know very little about Macau, other than that it use to be a Portuguese colony but was handed back to China on Dec 20, 1999 (There were signs everywhere that the taxes would be raised on Dec 20th by 20%!! Shocking!)

My little cousin and I jumping in front of the ruins of St Paul's
Our family was laughing at how my little cousin jumped up like a frog!
Note: hyper-extension of right arm - hyperflexibility/hypermobility: a common train in Asians!

industrial/casino area of Macau
Macau's economy is heavily based on tourism and gambling. They have the same renown casinos as Las Vegas except that Macau attracts more-so the Asian clients more so than the multi-cultural clients that Las Vegas tends to attract.

Streets are quite similar to Hong Kong streets although slightly more
compacted. When you walk down this street, you are harassed by
vendors who want you to sample beef/pork jerky (a specialty of Macau)

There was plenty of Christmas spirit around town!

Rocking around the Christmas tree, at the Christmas party hop
Mistletoe hung where you can see, ev'ry couple tries to stop

Rocking around the Christmas tree, let the Christmas spirit ring
Later we'll have some pumpkin pie, and we'll do some caroling...

This song always gets me into the mood for dancing for Christmas!
It is my personal tradition to watch Home Alone - my
Above picture: town square                 ultimate Christmas film (it's the jokester inside of me!)

Some more Christmasy photos!

A beautiful Nativity scene - I'm glad they remembered the
true significance of Christmas!

we're Christmas trees!

Santa - we know you're fictional but we still love you!
What I loved about this trip was spending some quality time with my family and my little cousin!

I find that growing up, I had a great cousin as a role model to look up to - therefore, I think I've turned out semi-okay! (hey, we're not perfect!)

My little cousin looks up to me but I hope to set a Christ-like example for her - that in what I do, it's God who is glorified and I pray that the Lord works in her

Some people call me silly and immature but I think one has to embrace the youthfulness inside of them. My grandmother at the age of 75 still does! Our God is a God of humour as well and I believe He desires us to have fun too!  (That's my justification for silly pictures!)

Much love,
Carmen
