New Years' Resolution in another perspective

Happy 2012 everyone!

Happy New Year in the most innovative way from Suzie, Helen and Carmen

I'm not one that's big for New Years' Resolution but my friend Helen asked me a very challenging question today.

'Use 3 words to describe how you want God to challenge you/do/work this year.'

I think I prefer this rather than New Years Resolution because God is in the centre of this - it's almost a commitment/promise to God that you are allowing Him to mould you this year. Some would argue that New Years' Resolution could be entirely God-centered (for example, being more prayerful and reading your Bible more) but in the question my friend posed, it's asking the Lord to shape/mould you.

So have you thought of 3 succinct (Ray, the word was used especially for you) words that you would like to be shaped this year?

I would love to share mine.

1) Wisdom
Where do I start? Wisdom in every way - how to deal with difficult situations, to make difficult decisions, to decipher good and evil etc etc! Everything in life basically!

2) Contentment
I must learn to count my blessings - am incredibly blessed with wonderful family and friends, an opportunity to be well educated and many more!! I pray for contentment in every way and in every situation even when it is hard to be content! Also, with the Lord's help, I am striving to be content with the woman God has created me to be - the culture I come from, I am in and the future that is yet to come.

3) Courage
Courage to break away from the old and to do things that may be scary; courage to trust in the Lord and let Him be in my life; courage to just BE in the world that tells us to DO

So those are the 3 I would like to be challenged in this year?

What are your 3?
Would love to hear if you'd like to share!

Much love,
Carmen
